Biographical Note
Eddy Stevens was born in Brasschaat in 1965 and trained at the Academy of Arts in Sint Niklaas, Belgium.
He paints a magical-symbolic dream world, that reaches far beyond the every day horizon. Lively colours are banned and sober monochromatic shades suggest a trascendental ambience.
The human figures are volatile passers-by, an image of their ephemeral existence. The fading contours shape infinished movements.
The intriguing style of drawing refers to a photographical technicality, but is also a pure expression of personal experience and deep emotions.
Eddy Stevens has exhibited in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, the UK, Malta and the USA.
