Gallery Artists CHUCK ELLIOT

Biographical Note

A graduate of Middlesex University Chuck Elliott founded his studio in Soho in 1994 and is now based in Bristol. His latest range of work has departed for the first time from the figurative in favour of a free exploration of colour, movement and light. Each new piece begins life inspired by a piece of ephemera, using a computer this is sketched, a model is built and used to generate a freeform series of coloured shapes, which are captured as a camera would. These are then digitally engineered, reworked, recoloured, cropped and edited prior to imaging as Cibachrome style archival Lambda photographic prints. Chuck believes they represent a tremendous step forward in the art of print making.

Commissions include work for Mucia Prada, Yohji Yamamoto and Nike. He has exhibited in London at the RCA Works on Paper and in Bath and Bristol..

The work is framed in boxed perspex and hand produced the artist by in editions of between 6 and 10.
