Biographical Note:
Born in Umbraj India, in 1957, Bhaskar Handé travelled to Bombay in 1974 to work as a banner painter for the Bombay film industry. From 1976 he was a student at Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Arts in Bombay, graduated in 1981, and won the Maharashtra Prize in both 1979 and 1981. The following year he travelled to the Netherlands and studied for two years at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts, The Hague, obtaining the diploma in Monumental Painting & Design in 1984. After further study, in animation film and video at the Free Academy of Visual Arts in the Hague, he has worked as a fine artist in both India and Holland. This is Bhaskar's second exhibition at Blackheath Gallery.
